1. Arriving at Delhi Airport (IGI)
International Terminal: All international flights will land at Terminal 3 (T3). After landing, you will proceed through immigration and customs. Please have your visa documents ready and make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
Currency Exchange: There are currency exchange counters and ATMs available at the airport. We recommend having some Indian rupees (INR) for taxis and other small purchases upon arrival.
2. Flights from Vancouver & Other Locations
Vancouver: There are direct flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Delhi with Air India. We recommend booking your tickets early to get the best rates!
United States: Direct flights are available from San Francisco (SFO) and New York (JFK) to Delhi via Air India, United Airlines, and American Airlines.
United Kingdom: Direct flights are available from London Heathrow (LHR) to Delhi on British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Air India.
Australia: Guests from Australia can find direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Delhi via Air India and Qantas.
New Zealand & Fiji: Travellers from New Zealand and Fiji will need to take connecting flights through Australia or other major hubs like Singapore or Dubai.
3. Transportation from Delhi Airport to Your Hotel
Prepaid Taxis: After you clear customs, head to the prepaid taxi counter in the arrival hall. You can pay for your taxi in advance, and they will assign one to you. The fare to central Delhi ranges from INR 500-1,200 (~$6-15 USD) depending on your destination.
Ride-Hailing Services: Uber and Ola (India’s popular ride-hailing app) are widely available at the airport. These can be booked using the apps, which work the same way as Uber back home.
Airport Metro Express: For those who prefer public transportation, the Airport Metro Express is a fast and affordable way to reach central Delhi. It connects to key locations such as New Delhi Railway Station and Connaught Place. The fare ranges from INR 60-100 (~$0.75-1.25 USD).
